ANARDE FOUNDATION Anarde Foundation was established in 1979 with a focus on activities like watershed management, income generation, social forestry, socio-cultural programmes and relief efforts in natural disasters.
ASHAPURA FOUNDATION Ashapura Foundation works in Mumbai and Kutch since 1992. Main activities are in the field of education, watershed development, propagation of smokeless stoves, school reforms, scholarships for needy students and relief work.
SHREE BIDADA SARVODAYA TRUST One of the oldest charitable health institutions for the poor in Kutch, Bidada Sarvodaya Trust was established in Kutch in 1974. The organization works on a range of health activities, including setting up hospitals and health education.
BHIMANI KHADI MANDAL Established in 1951, the Bhimani Khadi Mandal works in Bhachau and Rapar Talukas. The main aim is to work for backward class people and make them self reliant by educating them and creating employment opportunities.
BHOJAY SARVODAYA TRUST Bhojay Sarvodaya Trust was formed to provide medical facilities in the area of Kutch that lacked the basic facilities of Medical Diagnosis and investigation. Shri Bhojay Sarvodaya Trust hospital was inaugurated in December 1998 with round the clock OPD clinic, basic investigative facilities and a full fledged operation theatre.
CORBETT FOUNDATION The Corbett Foundation is a registered public charitable trust set up in 1994. It began with an initial mandate of supporting the preservation and conservation of the flaura and fauna in the villages of Kumaon and Garhwal. In 1998 the organisation expanded its activities in Kutch. Kutch Ecological Research Centre, thus formed, focuses on medical outreach programme, wildlife conservation, awareness, and earthquake relief and rehabilitation work.
GRAM SWARAJ SANGH In 1978, Gram Swaraj Sangh started work in Khadir region of Rapar in Kutch on a range of educational and cultural activites along the Sarvodaya principles of non-violence. The main areas of work are housing for the poor, primary education, watershed management, well recharging, employment generation and animal husbandry.
GUIDE was established at Bhuj in May 1995 and registered as a public trust and a society. The mission of Guide is to catalyse the process of eliminating human misery in desert ecosystems, following sound ecological principles and carefully using scientific knowledge, imaginative technology and capital.
KUTCH ECOLOGY FOUNDATION Started with an activity of tree plantation in Kutch on a large scale, the organization is working for preservation and conservation of environment.
Based in Abdasa, Kutch, the organization is involved in activities like watershed development, wasteland development, and Animal husbandry programme.
KUTCH YUVAK SANGH In 1988 the Kutch Yuvak Sangh started work in Mumbai and Kutch on a range of educational and social activities including well recharging, income generation, self-employment and relief works.
KUTCH MAHILA VIKAS SANGATHAN (KMVS) Established in 1989, the KMVS works primarily with rural women™s collectives in 160 villages on a range of empowerment/development issues such as handicrafts, savings and credits, legal aid, environment, health, education and Panchayati Raj.
LIONS CLUB OF BHUJ Setup in Bhuj in 1974, the Kutch chapter of the International Lions Club is engaged in a range of social service activities.
RURAL AGRO RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY (RARDS) Established in 1988, RARDS is working in Mundra taluka primarily with the farming communities on the adoption on newer agricultural methods, animal husbandry, biogas plants, tissue culture laboratories, watersheds, training and demonstration workshops and relief works.
SAATH Saath was established in 1989 with a vision to facilitate participatory and sustainable development processes that would give equitable living environment to human settlements, especially for vulnerable groups. To attain this goal, Saath works in regularised slum areas of Ahmedabad through its Integrated Slum Development Programme.
SAHJEEVAN Sahjeevan was established in 1991 with an aim to facilitate the development process in Kutch through sustainable use of natural resources. Its primary activities are eco-restoration and regeneration of land with a focus on people™s control.
SARVA SEVA SANGH In 1981, Sarva Seva Sangh started work in all talukas of Kutch with its coordination offices based in Mundra and Bhuj, and is engaged primarily in drought-relief activities with a focus on priority access of fodder for cattle.
SARASWATAM Saraswatam, an educational institution was formed in 1968 with an aim to spread secondary education in the rural areas of Kutch where it was almost non-existent, with an overall aim to correlate education as an aid to serve and act as a change agent.
SHRUJAN TRUST The Shrujan Trust was established in 1968. The main objective was to provide designing, marketing and training support to the traditional handicrafts sector of Kutch to make the artisans economically self reliant. Today Shrujan Trust works in 80 villages and supports through its efforts, 2000 women artisans of Kutch.
SHRI KUTCHI VISA OSWAL JAIN MAHAJAN Established in 1986 in Bhuj, the organization is involved in activities like fodder distribution and other social activities.
SHRI SANGH Shree Sangh was founded in Ratadia village of Mundra taluka in 1963 and was officially registered as a non-government organization in 1972. The organization mainly works in the area of health and has setup various health centres, Maternity homes, clinics and health museum in Mundra taluka.
VIKSAT The Vikram Sarabhai Centre for Development Interaction-VIKSAT, established in 1977, is the second of the several activities that were initiated by Nehru Foundation for Development (NFD). VIKSAT aims, through interaction of Government Organisations, NGOs and People™s Institutions, at promoting and strengthening people™s institutions with active involvement of men and women from all sections of the community for equitable, gender sensitive, and sustainable development and management of natural resources.
VIVEKANAND RESEARCH AND TRAINING INSTITUTE (VRTI) Established in 1975 with a vision to make village economies self-reliant and sustainable, the VRTI works on a range of issues such as watershed management, drinking water, agriculture, animal husbandry, eco-restoration, income generation, energy conservation, public health and sanitation, education and youth activities.
VIVEKANAND GRAMODHYOG SOCIETY (VGS) The organization was initiated in 1988, by the Vivekanand Research & Training Institute (VRTI), to provide the much needed “Design & Marketing Support” to the Kutchi handicraft community. It supports over 250 artisans of Kutch, involved in block printing and batik art, by providing market linkages, sourcing, design inputs etc.
VEERAYATAN Founded in 1973, Veerayatan is a socio-religious institution in Bihar striving to extend the concept of spirituality, service to humanity, culture and education beyond the limitations of time and space. With the main objective of Sewa (humanitarian service), Sadhana ( Spiritual Service) and Shiksha (education), Veerayatan is providing services in the field of community health, education and employment.
YUVA YUVA was founded in 1984 as a voluntary development organization, with a central goal to intervene for social justice. YUVA is accredited as an NGO with General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic & Social Council (ECOSOC). It houses an Urban Resource Centre and an Information Programme on Urbanization for the Asia-Pacific Region.
YUSUF MAHERALLY CENTRE The centre was started in 1961 in memory of Yusuf Maherally and Dr. Zakir Hussain, the then Vice-President of India in 1965. It is actively engaged in micro-watershed development, organic farming, village industries and marketing. It also works in the areas of Health, Education and Leadership Training.
